Today, we launch ‘Love a Positive Life’ at the Brighton Fringe Festival.
Curated using our library of images that catalogue our work around the world, the exhibition highlights how we support and empower young women affected by – or living with – HIV.
We chose to focus on adolescent girls and young women because globally, 18.6 million women are living with HIV and, despite huge advances in treatment, just 50% receive treatment. Young women are twice as likely to acquire HIV than young men, and globally, AIDS remains the third largest killer among young women aged 15-29.
The ‘Love a Positive Life’ exhibition marks the launch of a brand new individual giving campaign, taking place alongside a digital campaign that pulls the creative aspects of the exhibition online, to reach a wider audience and encourage supporters of the Alliance.
This year we wanted to use the Brighton Fringe festival as an opportunity to raise awareness of our work and to keep HIV on the agenda of people in Brighton, to ask them to consider supporting or even donating to our work.” - Christine Stegling, Executive Director
‘Love a Positive Life’ is taking place at Brighton Jubilee Library from 5-28 May. You can find out more about the exhibition on the Brighton Fringe event page, and our Facebook event page. Read the blog by exhibition curator, Gemma Taylor.
